This position works with the management team to develop the practice, achieve goals and ensure mission is maintained.
Plans for optimal staffing to assure maximum productivity and service.
Directly recruits, interviews, and hires support staff personnel in associated department and facilitates as necessary for other departments
Supervises support staff personnel and acts as the direct authority regarding disciplinary procedures.
Assures that personnel are properly trained for their position, coordinates training on new procedures and practices as it relates to associated departments
Assists with and/or conducts performance evaluations for department staff as necessary
Mediates personnel problems, maintains employee motivation, and structures continuing education for associated support staff personnel.
Oversees equipment maintenance, housekeeping standards, lawn and building maintenance
Oversees Inventory Management personnel and ensures they are properly trained
Meets with vendors and pharmaceutical representatives accordingly as it relates to medical treatments, products and therapies. Organizes, researches and reports information to management team for review, discussion, etc…
Maintains compliance to employee manual, procedures and policies
Applies Team Standards to all aspects of job on a daily basis
Monitors job descriptions and “to do” lists for associated position
Participates is supervisory meetings and collaborates to improve both individual departments and overall practice
Participates in management meetings and collaborates to improve practice
Approves schedule changes and vacation requests within policy guidelines
Incorporates new products and procedures into practice management software pursuant to practice guidelines
Oversees associate veterinarians as it applies to compliance with company policies, procedures and team standards and address concerns accordingly
Assists in various departments as necessary to maintain superior level of patient/client care
Assists practice manager as delegated and acts as manager in their absence
Manages controlled substance handling and logs in compliance with state and federal regulations
Maintains, adds and changes dosimeter monitors in compliance with state and federal regulations.
