Tryon Equine Hospital is offering a one year rotating Internship with time spent in hospital and field service.
Tryon Equine is a full service referral and performance horse hospital with a strong field service and horse show component located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina in a very active equestrian area and in close proximity to the new Tryon International Equestrian Center. In the hospital we have Board Certified Specialists in Surgery and Medicine. Services offered include MRI, digital radiography, digital ultrasonography including cardiology, neurologic evaluations including myelography, Neonatal Intensive care, Isolation facility, and full surgical and regenerative medicine services.
Veterinarians from Tryon Equine Hospital provide official show services at TIEC 8 months of the year for hunter/jumper, dressage and eventing. Tryon Equine is the referral center for the World Equestrian Games, and two of our doctors are veterinary services managers for the World Equestrian Games September 2018.
Our 17.000 square foot facility is equipped for full medical and surgical capabilities, standing MRI and in-house laboratory services. We currently employ 8 doctors, 12 technicians, interns and support staff. The hospital is located adjacent to an equine rehabilitation facility with Aquatred and salt water spa.
Our caseload consists of English and Western performance, Racehorses in training and pleasure horses covering a wide range of disciplines, with a referral caseload from the local region and surrounding States. We are a fast paced practice with a strong emphasis on client communication and service, and have a strong team building approach within our daily work flow.
The successful candidates will rotate between the hospital and field services.
Didactic training including weekly journal club presentation / discussion and case presentation is an important component of the training program.
Housing is provided on site in our modern Blue Ridge Log home.
Ability to obtain Veterinary Licensure in North and South Carolina.
