Animal Eye Specialty Clinic in Deerfield Beach is currently seeking a skilled CVT or experienced veterinary nurse for our busy ophthalmology specialty clinic located in Deerfield Beach, FL. As an experienced nurse, you are the key to our client/patient centered practice.
You will utilize your medical knowledge and your highly developed organizational skills to manage and direct the client/patient flow in the practice.
Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will serve as a focal point for communicating with and educating our clients (by phone and in person).
You will oversee and maintain medical records, which incorporates your attention to detail.
Using your current knowledge of veterinary medicine and the knowledge you will gain from working with us, you will assist our veterinarians in diagnosing and treating pets with ophthalmic disease.
Through the use of our updated medical equipment, multi-model anesthetic monitors for every patient under anesthesia, and photographic documentation of patient progress we are able to provide exceptional care for patients/clients. Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews; reviewing care plans and records; completing laboratory test and studies, and diagnostic imaging.
Support animal examinations by assembling required supplies and instruments; securing and bringing animals to examination room; restraining animals; providing assistance as directed; explaining animal’s status to owner.
Care for animals by taking vital signs; collecting samples; administering medications, drugs, and vaccines; bandaging and wrapping wounds; performing physical and inhalation therapies.
Support operations by assembling required supplies and instruments; setting up surgery table instruments; restraining animals; completing local/reginal anesthesia; operating and monitoring anesthetic machines; hooking-up ECG monitors; preparing surgical site; placing catheters; obtaining blood gases; cleaning-up post-surgical site; maintaining sterile conditions; obtaining and verifying medications.
Upload photos taken by doctors to medical record.
Generate invoices as well as complete referral letters to RDVM’s once patient records are complete.
Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, and complying with legal regulations
Maintain animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes; updating database.
Maintain equipment by following operation instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining equipment supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock.
Additional Salary Information: Accrue 2 weeks paid vacation per year. Access to healthcare as well as vision, dental, & life insurance. Eligibility for 401K benefits after 1 year of employment. Four sets of scrubs provided initially, and two sets provided yearly thereafter. Paid time off for major holidays (3 per year). Annual CE allowance.
