We are currently offering up to $3000 signing bonus for a VTS-Anesthesia/Analgesia or highly qualified Registered Veterinary Techncian with current licensure and previous specialty veterinary history.
We are a privately-owned neurology, neurosurgery and imaging practice looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician Specialist (Anesthesia or Neurology) or Registered Veterinary Technician with 2+ years experience. Our practice treats patients with complex and multi-faceted health issues, which makes it an ideal environment for technicians who like to be challenged and learn on a daily basis. Because of the multiple facets of our practice, time management skills are of utmost importance.
The ideal candidate for this role also enjoys teaching/mentoring other staff members and has excellent communication skills. This person will "mat talk" their colleagues to encourage morale and professional growth and success. The candidate should be able to pivot quickly with changing information and act accordingly without becoming frustrated or overwhelmed. Conversely, this person should also know when to ask for help and, moreover, that asking for help is encouraged at our practice.
From a clinical perspective, candidates must have experience in all areas of anesthesia including, but not limited to: anesthesia induction and intubation, monitoring, record keeping, knowledge of anesthetic medications, CRI calculations, sterile technique, and operating room preparation. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of experience in a specialty hospital setting, or in a position with a high surgical caseload. The hours are rotating shifts Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30am – 7:00pm. Rotating weekend and holiday availability is required.
Our practice is a part of Chesapeake Veterinary Referral Center in Annapolis and Towson. CVRC is a shared facility that encompasses specialists in emergency, oncology, cardiology, surgery, radiation oncology, internal medicine and ophthalmology.
Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Maryland
CVT/LVT licensure out of state that is eligible for transfer
At least 2 years of experience in specialty veterinary medicine
Anesthesia induction and intubation
Knowledge of anesthetic medications and contraindications
Operating room preparation
Additional Salary Information: Signing bonus paid dependent on experience and certification.
Half to be paid on the first paycheck and the second half will be received after 12 months of continuous employment.
