Seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team full time. County Animal Hospital (CAH) is located in Rockland County, NY. CAH is privately owned and has a rich history and heritage that dates back to 1933. Robert Weiner, VMD, Diplomate ABVP (canine/feline), has been here since 1981. He will mentor and train as needed and desired by the successful candidate. As a member of VMG (Veterinary Management Group), CAH has access to training programs intended to assist the recent graduate to shorten the learning curve in surgery, ultrasound, client communication and practice management for one interested in eventual practice ownership.
Our practice is open 6 days a week (Mon-Sat). There are no after-hour emergencies or on-call responsibilities; these are directed to a local after-hours emergency hospital. Hours are flexible and work/life balance is respected. CAH is an AAHA accredited hospital providing medical, surgical, dental, nutritional and behavioral care. Our patients include dogs, cats, birds, and some exotics. Dr. Weiner and our LVTs are all Certified Fear Free® Professionals. All veterinary technicians are licensed by NYS. We are an externship site for the Mercy College LVT program. Telemedicine is available to our clients. The hospital features the complete Idexx in-house laboratory suite and ultrasound examinations and digital radiographs are available in-house.

Skills Requirements & Qualifications:
DVM/VMD degree (new graduates will also be considered)
Licensed in New York State and in good standing
Ability to build a trusting rapport with clients and patients
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to educate on and discuss topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, nutritional needs and preventative treatment with clients
Stay current with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine
Interest in Avian medicine a plus (but not required)
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine
Model a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients
Commitment to ongoing educational growth
