We have a unique position for an equine veterinarian who is looking for ample time off and still makes a six-figure salary. We are developing an equine-only emergency duty service in Connecticut and the adjoining area in New York.
If the idea of focusing exclusively on emergency service for a high-quality horse population that expects excellent care interests you, let’s talk. You will cover weekend emergency calls from Friday evening to Monday morning for up to 50 weekends per year. You will be providing this service for our practice and other practices in this area that subscribe to this service. The radius for this service is one hour and fifteen minutes from Waterbury, Connecticut.
The good part of this job? Let’s start with the salary. We’re willing to pay $3,000 for emergency service from Friday evening until Monday morning. Not bad, huh? We will provide a full-time position for the right veterinarian who is willing to cover 36 to 50 weekends per year. Other work opportunities are available depending on your needs.
You’ll be working out of a fully stocked vehicle and receive the benefits we offer our associate veterinarians—health care, liability insurance, continuing education stipend, AVMA and AAEP membership fees. One of our veterinarians will always be available for advice and backup as necessary.
The horse population in this area is truly unique, mostly sport horses with a smattering of retirees. Their owners expect high levels of care and are willing to pay for it.
We understand that we may not make a profit from this venture, but when it does, you will be compensated accordingly.
You undoubtedly have some questions about this position, so do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
