Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC is a growing, privately-owned specialty and emergency practice located in upstate New York.  As a privately owned hospital, the practice owners are active clinicians who take a team approach to manage the hospital.  They make themselves accessible to the staff and are dedicated to making UVS the ideal veterinary practice for employees.

Our leadership, administration teams, doctors, and medical staff work together in a collaborative environment to achieve our mission - helping pets live longer, happier lives through expert medical care and compassionate client service. Our clinicians are supported by highly educated licensed veterinary technicians, assistants, and client relations specialists. We have an on-site and diverse leadership team and a full-service administrative department.

Our Facility

Our hospital is a custom-built, 40,000-square-foot facility. Our hospital also includes a 1.5T MRI, 64 slice CT scanner with power injector, digital x-ray, underwater treadmill, multi-parameter telemetry, endoscopy suite, multiple surgery suites, full diagnostic laboratory, in-house pharmacy, and everything else you could want to practice high-quality medicine.

Our Location

Our hospital is located between Albany and Saratoga Springs, a lively and energetic region that balances our historical roots with a vibrant metropolitan atmosphere. The growing area is centrally located between the Adirondack, Catskill, and Berkshire mountains and the cities of Boston, New York, and Montreal. Our location offers easy access to public transportation with Amtrak stations and the nearby Albany international airport.

The area's attractions include the Empire State Plaza, Saratoga State Park, Racetrack and Performing Arts Center, Lake George, Thatcher Park, The New York State Museum, and more. Schedules:

• Full-time, 12 shifts every four weeks including a rotation with day, swing, overnight and weekend shifts
• Full-time, 9 shifts of overnight 5pm-6am every four weeks
• Part-time, 8 shifts every four weeks, include part-time benefits

Our specialists are fully committed to the care of their patients and providing exceptional service to clients and referring veterinarians. In doing so, we are available full time for veterinary specialty referral services. Our hospital in Latham, NY offers 24 hour continuous care for our patients following surgical and other procedures if they are not yet ready to return home. Due to our Emergency Service, patients who arrive for urgent treatment may be transferred for specialty care if appropriate the following morning. The hospital’s available technologies include on-site advanced diagnostic imaging, including MRI.
